Christmas is a wonderful time of the year! It’s time to dig out all your decorations and spruce up the office. Decorating the office is the perfect way to get all your employees involved, not only does it help to promote a positive working environment but it is a bit of fun too.

Follow these 5 steps to creating the perfect Christmassy look in the office…

1. A Christmas tree…

Does seem obvious I know. However, a lot of people tend to stick a small Christmas tree on their desk, but that doesn’t exactly scream Christmas joy, does it? It’s only there for a little while, so make the most of it. You don’t need to go overboard, but purchasing a decent sized tree you can decorate will add a nice touch to the office.

2. Pick your favourite colour scheme…

If you don’t have a colour scheme, things can start to look a little bit messy. Think about colours that go well together such as; gold & red, blue & silver or green & purple. Then choose the right decorations and ornaments that follow that scheme. If you are unsure about what scheme you want to go for, a great place to start would be your company colour.

3. Decorating your desks…

An easy way to get your employees into the Christmas spirit is to let them decorate their desks or area with some of their own festive decorations, allowing them to decorate their personal space helps to boost happiness. if you know of any Scrooges in the office, a brilliant way to get them involved is to create a competition.

4. Some festive goodies…

Who doesn’t love a Christmas treat? Festive foods play a big role during Christmas. Each Friday in December or the last Friday before you close, bring in some treats like; Christmas pudding, biscuits, mince pies, candy canes or anything you can think of, for everyone to indulge in and enjoy.

 5. Christmas music…

Finally, some Christmas music! Starting the festive music too early can be slightly annoying for people, so the best time to blast those tunes would be just a couple of weeks before. This is when employees start to get into the spirit the most and will enjoy singing along to those cheesy songs.

Most importantly have an amazing Christmas and New Year, from all of us at Office Changes! 🙂
